| Mike Leach is at it again. This time he is contacting Friendship I.S.D. to see when Tubb's kids were enrolled in school. One could only assume he is doing this to see if TTU had a deal in place with Tubbs before Leach was fired. Now the kicker is Friendship I.S.D. isn't giving him the records when in the past they have provided people with records when requested. |

| Leach needs to let it go and come to some type of settlement if he wants to get a decent coaching job ever again. Nobody is going hire him if they think he might do this to them sometime down the road |

He may be able to get a much better settlement if he catches TTU breaching the contract. |

| Agreed but this just can't look good to potential employers. IMO if he doesn't give a shit about coaching anymore then go for it and get all of the money out of Tech that you can. But if he would like to get hired by any respectable school in the future he needs to just cut his losses and reach a settlement |

Take it Frienship ISD is a private school?
I tend to agree with Ataglance.
As an AD, Leach comes with a brilliant offensive mind. But what if things don’t work out and you have to let him go? Will he go on a rampage trying to destroy your career as payback? |

| If they are a public institution, don't they have to make their records available to the public? |

Most ADs would have handled things a bit differently with Leach. Also from the looks of TTU's athletic program as a whole Gerald doesn't need ANY help destroying his career, he's done a fair job of it himself.
This is a lawsuit worth millions of dollars not to mention the fact that someone's character is on trial as well. Is Leach damaged more by pursuing the lawsuit and risking being labeled as a "troublemaker" or not pursuing the lawsuit, losing millions and being labeled an "abusive coach"?
Also, the title of the thread cracked me up...."just when you thought it was over"....uh, it's an ongoing lawsuit.....who exactly thought it was over? |

| Didn't Leach graduate with a law degree from a fairly prestigious school? Can anybody really blame him for essentially doing what he was trained to do? If he wanted to he could quit coaching and go into law and live very comfortably off the money he made while coaching and the money he's going to make after this lawsuit is over. I'm pretty sure this is one of those "matters of prinicple" things. If I were him I'd fight it tooth and nail too, no matter how it made me look to everyone else. |

All the rumors about new jobs, sheds, and a replacement hire should be over by now. You'd think the story well done and the only Tech news would be Tubbs saying he's going to win 4 championships, but nooooo. |

To me, the lawsuit is secondary to getting back to work. If TTU was looking to settle, I would probably take it and move on. Maybe his goals are different. If so, there is nothing wrong with that. If he wants to spend his days sticking it to TTU, like Goldman’s dad and OJ Simpson, that’s his right. |

I didn’t think public institutions got to decide what inquiries were justifiable or not. If you were a public institution you had to be transparent in your operations, end of story.
I could see them trying to claim a student’s enrollment history is private, just as his or her grades would be. But that would seem to be a weak argument if they’ve provided such information in the past. |
